Garden City Falcons Need Life-Saving AED Equipment
Every Saturday, over 100 young athletes and coaches from the Garden City Falcons youth tackle football organization gather at our home stadium in Augusta, GA. These kids, ages 5-14, pour their hearts into every play, building character, teamwork, and dreams of future greatness.
But there’s a critical gap in our safety net: we don’t have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) at our home stadium.
Football is an intense, physical sport. While rare, sudden cardiac arrest can strike any athlete at any age. When it happens, every second counts. Brain damage begins within 4-6 minutes without oxygen, and emergency responders may take longer to reach our field.
An AED can restore a normal heart rhythm and save a life when administered within the first few minutes of cardiac arrest. It’s the difference between a medical emergency and a tragedy.
Our Falcons families have invested countless hours teaching our kids to never give up, to protect their teammates, and to be prepared. Now we need the community’s help to protect them.
A quality AED costs approximately $1,500-$2,000, plus training for our coaches. This small investment could save the life of a player, coach, referee, or spectator.
Help us ensure that every Falcon who takes the field has the protection they deserve. Because every young life is worth defending.
