Description
My name is Brooke Rozelle and I’m the Athletic Trainer for ALA West Foothills. I’m urgently seek your support to acquire a dedicated Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for our athletics department. Currently, we lack an AED specifically for our student-athletes, posing significant health and safety risks.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death among young athletes. An AED can drastically increase survival rates by delivering a life-saving shock to the heart during an SCA. Immediate access to an AED is crucial, as every second counts.
Presently, our only AED is in the gym and must be transported to outdoor practices and games. This delay can be fatal during an SCA event. Additionally, when the AED is used outside, the gym and other indoor facilities are left without one, putting more students at risk.
The absence of a dedicated AED for our athletic department increases the risk of Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) for our student-athletes. We seek donations to purchase a dedicated AED. Your contribution, no matter the size, will directly impact our students’ safety and well-being!
