Three years ago, my father suffered sudden cardiac arrest and went 24 minutes without a pulse. Because someone stepped in to perform CPR and use an AED, his life and brain function were saved.
That moment changed everything for me.
Today, I compete in scholarship competitions through the Miss America Organization to turn that experience into impact. I advocate for heart health, teach CPR, and work to place AEDs in youth-focused communities and spaces where young people learn, play, and compete.
Through partnerships with GotAED and Simon’s Heart, I’m committed to making sure more young people and families have access to these lifesaving tools—because one trained person, one AED, can mean the difference between loss and life.
