The National Cutting Horse Association promotes a western life-style, and celebrates the innate athletic ability and intelligence of the cutting horse. The NCHA has competitions and membership all across the United States as well as in several other countries.
Many shows are held in rural settings where emergency medical aid can be 20-30 minutes away. There have been quite a number of sudden cardiac arrest events at shows over the past 20-30 years with several sadly ending in the death of an NCHA member.
