My name is Megan Mazanek and my husband and I are volunteers for our community in many different ways but above all else we are parents to our 2 beautiful children. Emma and Charlie are very active kids and are always on a baseball or soccer field probably 3 to 7 days a week. Like so many kids in our town, we are always playing sports. Recently, being enrolled in school as a Medical Assistant, it came apparent to me that our local sport association does not have 1 single AED. Zero. We have 5 baseball fields and approximately 400 hundred kids on the baseball fields, in the spring alone. I did my research, talked to almost every coach, a few of the board members and the baseball commissioner and realized we need not only an action plan but a AED in place for our children in the event of an emergency.
