My name is Jennifer Pilgreen, a minister within the ministry and with a career in nursing for over 20 years. I serve with House of Resurrection, a nonprofit ministry committed to restoring hope, dignity, and stability in one of the most poverty‑stricken areas along the I‑95 corridor in surrounding Edgecombe, Nash, and Halifax counties in NC. Every week, our church opens its doors to children, elders, families in crisis, and community members who rely on us not only for spiritual support, but for safety, care, and a place where they are seen.
The House of Resurrection Church is a central gathering place for our rural community. We host worship services, youth programs, food distributions, outreach events, and daily support for vulnerable residents. With so many people depending on us, our building functions as both a spiritual home and a community hub.
Our local EMS first responders can take an average on 15-20min or longer to arrive from an emergency call. An AED on-site would allow us to respond immediately, giving a person the best possible chance to survive until EMS arrives. This device could literally be the difference between life and death for someone in our congregation or community.
