Description
We are a small group of volunteer parents serving as den leaders for our Cub Scout pack which meets at a local school multi-purpose room. Over the past 15 years as the Cubmaster we have had three incidents where I had to render CPR to members of the public during our youth meetings or activities. As a former first responder and older person the administration of CPR can sometime be disabling. I think that having an AED nearby would be a HUGE lifesaver. While we can use it at the school meeting space as a grab and go bag or take with us on our community service projects and trips, where twice I had to render first aid and CPR. I am currently teaching all my Cub Scouts (ages 5-10) and their parents first aid and CPR basics, to know how the AED works they can feel confident and use it in an emergency. People know Scouts are trained and our motto is Be Prepared! Sadly they are too costly for the working man to afford, so any help is appreciated. I am preparing our next generation for one of the realities of life.
Yours In Service,
Scouter Donn
